Hi Mr. Luu. I am currently a freshman at FTU. My major is also International Business(Advanced Program). What I want to ask is that which one is more valuable in your opinion : extra finance – related courses at school such as Econometrics or financial modelling courses on Udemy or both? I am also looking for a mentor and motivated peers. Can you introduce me to some of them?
Thanks a lot.

Hi Luke,
Thank you for visiting my blog. Those courses are equally valuable in my opinion. In your first years, instead of finding a mentor, spending time understanding which tracks in Finance (Audit, Tax, Investment,…) you want to follow is more important. You could do it by (1) Studying hard, both at school and online courses; (2) Joining clubs like FTU Securities Club (there are many excellent finance students here); (3) Taking some part-time jobs and (4) Joining competitions like CFA Research Challenge or I-INVEST. You will also find some motivated peers there.

Thank you for replying in such a short notice. Is it possible to follow investment track AND practice solving cases for the Management Consulting track like you did ? Thanks in advance.
